| States that Honor a Massachusetts License to Carry |

Firearms license reciprocity and recognition varies greatly from state to state and changes frequently. Massachusetts does not participate in reciprocal agreements with any other state and does not recognize firearms permits issued by other states. No New England state recognizes permits issued by any other New England state. Several state do allow Massachusetts LTC holders to carry firearms in their states. States honoring a Massachusetts license change from time to time. While every effort has been made to present current and accurate information, Massachusetts LTC holders should verify the laws of each state they plan to visit before carrying a firearm in that state.
Alaska will honor a valid permit to carry a concealed handgun from another state or subdivision of a state. However it is also legal for someone 16 or older to openly carry a firearm without a parent's permission. Persons 21 or older can carry a concealed firearm without a license or permit.
Arizona recognizes all other states valid permits providing certain conditions are met.
18-3302 "The requirement to secure a license to carry a concealed weapon under this section shall not apply to the following persons:...(g) Any person who has a valid permit from a state or local law enforcement agency or court authorizing him to carry a concealed weapon. A permit issued in another state will only be considered valid if the permit is in the licensee's physical possession."
IC 35-47-2-21(b) Licenses to carry handguns, issued by other states or foreign countries, will be recognized according to the terms thereof but only while the holders are not residents of Indiana.
Effective, July 15, 1998, Kentucky recognizes valid carry concealed weapons licenses issued by other states and, subject to the provisions of Kentucky law, a person holding a valid license from another state may carry a concealed deadly weapon in Kentucky.
Michigan's concealed pistol law (MCL 28.432a) expressly recognizes resident permits issued by other states. Michigan does not honor permits held by persons who are not residents of the issuing state.
Missouri recognizes “any valid permit or endorsement to carry concealed firearms issued by another state or political subdivision of another state.” (RSMo 571.030)
Montana recognizes concealed weapons permits from most other states.
Effective December 1, 2011, North Carolina automatically recognizes concealed carry permits issued in any other state. (§14-145.24(a))
Per Oklahoma Title 21 § 1290.26, the State of Oklahoma "recognizes any valid concealed carry weapons permit or license issued by another state. The license must be issued by the state and must be carried fully concealed from detection and view..."
The State of South Dakota recognizes any valid concealed pistol permit issued to a nonresident of South Dakota according to the terms of its issuance in the state of its issue. SDCL 23-7-7.4
Tennessee recognizes a facially valid handgun permit, firearms permit, weapons permit, or a license issued by another state according to its terms, and will, therefore, authorize the holder of such out-of-state permit or license to carry a handgun only in the state of Tennessee.
The Governor of Texas has issued a proclamation granting full faith and credit to valid concealed weapons permits issued by the state of Massachusetts.
In accordance with U.C.A. 76-10-523, Utah will honor a permit to carry a concealed firearm issued by another state or county.
