States that Honor a Massachusetts License to Carry

Firearms license reciprocity and recognition varies greatly from state to state and changes frequently.  Massachusetts does not participate in reciprocal agreements with any other state and does not recognize firearms permits issued by other states.  No New England state recognizes permits issued by any other New England state.

Several state do allow Massachusetts LTC holders to carry firearms in their states.  States honoring a Massachusetts license change from time to time.  While every effort has been made to present current and accurate information, Massachusetts LTC holders should verify the laws of each state they plan to visit before carrying a firearm in that state.

The issue of a restricted Massachusetts LTC's validity for carry in these states is not specifically addressed by statute, so it it difficult to determine in what states such a restricted license would authorize concealed carry

Laws governing the carrying of firearms vary greatly from state to state and what is a normal and acceptable practice in Massachusetts may not be allowed in other states.  Massachusetts LTC holders should review local laws before attempting to carry out of state.  Particular attention should be paid to other state's laws regarding carrying in 'sensitive places', required conduct or disclosure during a traffic stop, and mandatory concealment requirements.  Violation of local firearms law may result in a lifetime firearms possession disability.
