Massachusetts Civil Rights Organization Gets International Attention with Eye Opening Fundraiser

Gun enthusiasts from all walks of life gathered, Saturday, Jun 18th, 2011, to raise money for a new non-profit organization dedicated to championing 2nd Amendment rights in the Bay State.

And the chance to shoot a Porsche 911.

Fathers, mothers, children, and working professionals from every field gathered in the still morning hours at a private range in New Hampshire to show their support for Commonwealth Second Amendment, - a firearms organization dedicated to promoting a better understanding of the rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Having paid $30 a head for this once in a lifetime opportunity, the atmosphere was both calm and collected. The Porsche 911, - donated by a generous supporter had previously been totaled as a result of a blown engine and had virtually no salvage value.

Safety was the group's first priority of the day and after briefings from the safety officers, shooter headed to the range in small groups.

"We figured it would be a good time. Cars are a nice, large target, which provide entertainment for both the expert shooter and the novice alike," said the organization's spokesperson.

"These shoots are a great opportunity for fellow gun enthusiasts to hang out, chat, and enjoy their hobby in a safe, family friendly environment. There's a lot of misinformation in the media about who your average firearms enthusiast is, and events like this really open peoples' eyes."

And after the dust had settled, and the range was quiet?

"We're estimating at least 10,000 rounds went through the Porsche, and after attendees posted their photos and videos on North East Shooters, New England's premier firearm forum, and other social media outlets, we started getting inundated with press inquires.”The youtube video especially, has really gone viral" the spokesperson added.

"We've had comments from across the spectrum. People wondering why we didn't salvage the car, etc., but it really wasn't salvageable. We've had even more people enthusiastically asking about out next event, hoping they can shoot a Porsche, too."

"At the end of the day, this is what we're all about at Comm2A. Making people aware of their Second Amendment Rights and showing them that firearms enthusiasts can have a ton of fun in a family friendly and responsible fashion."
